  • Surface - Silver Markings - Patent clear bore, exhibition prize metals awarded, J. Higham Maker, 127 Strangways Manchester Lyon & Healy sole agents. Historical Detail - Joseph Higham operated in Manchester England 1842 to 1950. Higham patented the clear bore valve in 1867. Established by Joseph Higham (born 1818). His son in law Peter Robinson took over the business in 1883. By 1893 46,000 instruments were produced with a workforce of 90.
